Benbrook Lake Fort Worth TX is also known as the Benbrook Reservoir. It is located just 10 miles from the heart of Fort Worth but is literally another world. This lake is a local favorite for fishing and boating activities. There are plenty of access points to the lake.

This reservoir was constructed by the Army Corps of Engineers in the early nineteen hundreds to control the flooding of the Trinity River.  It offers great fishing opportunities.  This lake is over 3 acres in surface area and offers a full range of fishing opportunities. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish.

Before heading out to fish you do want to contact the Texas Fish and Game department to check for license requirements.

Fishing of course is the main reason most people visit Benbrook Lake Fort Worth TX but there are other reasons you may want to head over and check out the lake. The scenery is simply beautiful. The area is rich with natural fauna and flora and it is nice to just stroll around the lake and take in all the beauty.

It is a great place for a picnic and to allow the kids to burn off some energy. You can camp at the primitive campground at Rocky Creek Park on the bank of Benbrook Lake.  Horseback riding trails are on site as are pit toilets.   Enjoy the camp fire rings, tables and lake access.  Benbrook Lake, Fort Worth Texas is a great place to spend a day or two.
