The Fort Worth Water Gardens is one of the best attractions that Texas has to offer. The water garden was dedicated to the City of Fort Worth by the Amon G. Carter Foundation.  The water park is divided into 4 areas: The Active Pool, The Aerating Pool, The Quiet Pool and The Mountain. The Active Pool is done the traditional way, just like Solomon’s temple where the water comes from different directions, creating waterfalls, something to cool you down from the heat of Texas. The sci-fi movie “Logan’s Run “shot a chase scene here on 1975. Next is the Aerating Pool which has evenly spaced array of sprinklers that creates rainbows as sunlight passes through the tiny droplets. The Quiet Pool, as the name suggest is very quiet and tranquil. The cypress trees that surround the pool create a shadow that makes the place dramatic.

The Fort Worth Zoo, the oldest zoo in Texas, was founded in the early 20th century (1909 to be exact) with about ten animals – a lion, an alligator, two baby bears, a single peacock, and a few rabbits. Since then, the Fort Worth Zoo has grown significantly in numbers, so much that it now houses nearly 7000 animals, both native and exotic. Until the October of 1991, the Fort Worth Zoo was under the City of Fort Worth’s charge, and during its administration, many money collecting traditions began in order to purchase new animals for the Zoo, as the goal was to get more visitors. In 1939, just before the World War II, the former Zoological Society formed itself as an organization that would help raise even more funds.
